Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, equipment and materials, test procedures, test reports, and example results required for the 12-m drop test in the classification of chemical hazards.
This standard is applicable to determining whether a test unit (item, packaged item, or packaged substance except for homogeneous liquids) can withstand the impact of a free fall without causing obvious fire or explosion hazards.
This standard is not applicable to tests assessing whether packages can withstand impacts.
