Scope

Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions of the cultivation techniques for balanites ammodendron, including site selection and land preparation, seedling production, seedling management, planting, cultivation management, pest and disease control, and fruit harvesting. This document is applicable to the cultivation of balanites ammodendron in eastern Guangdong. Main technical content: 4.1 Site selection: In areas with an annual average temperature of 18°C to 28°C, an extreme minimum temperature of ≥0°C, an annual rainfall of ≥1000 mm, and an altitude of ≤500 m, with little fog from March to April, select sunny slopes or flatlands with acidic or slightly acidic red soil and a soil layer thickness of ≥50 cm as planting areas; avoid planting in poorly drained or alkaline soils. The air quality of the site should meet the requirements of GB 3095, the irrigation water quality should meet the requirements of GB 5084, and the soil environmental quality should meet the requirements of GB 15618. 5.1 Seed selection: Select the fruits of mature balanites ammodendron as seeds. After seed collection, pile them up until they rot, wash them clean, and dry them in a shaded area. Wait for the hard shell to open naturally to obtain the seeds. 9. General requirements for pest and disease control: Pest and disease control should follow the green integrated prevention and control principle of "prevention first, treatment second". Generally, green prevention and control should be implemented by protecting natural enemies, and chemical prevention and control should only be used when pest infestation is severe. The use of pesticides should comply with the requirements of GB/T 8321.
