Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of alpine meadows, the degradation grading indicators for grazing in subalpine and alpine meadows, and the degradation assessment methods and reference bases. This standard is applicable to the assessment of grazing degradation in alpine meadows in some areas of Ganzi, Aba and Liangshan. Since shrubs in the meadows are rarely eaten by livestock, this standard does not consider the impact of grazing on shrubs, but only focuses on changes in herbaceous plants.
