Scope

Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions, site selection, plantation establishment, planting, young tree management, fruit tree management, and harvesting for high-yield cultivation of R2E2 mangoes. This document is applicable to R2E2 mango production management. Main technical content: 1. Terms and definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this document: 1.1 R2E2 mango R2E2 mango, originally from Australia and also known as Australian mango, was bred by Ian Bally, Ross Wright, and Peter Beal in 1982 and entered commercial production in 1991. It was introduced to China in 2009 and is now grown in Taiwan, Hainan, Guangxi, and Yunnan. When fully ripe, the fruit is pink in color, pear-shaped, and weighs 0.5–1.5 kg, with a soluble solids content of 16–18%. 2. Site selection 2.1 Environmental requirements The environmental quality shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 391. 2.2 Site conditions The average annual temperature should be above 18°C, with an extreme minimum temperature of 0°C or higher. There should be no frost throughout the year, and no continuous low-temperature and rainy weather during the flowering period. The soil should be fertile, loose, and well-ventilated, with a pH value of 5.5–7.5. Irrigation and drainage conditions should be good. 3. Plantation establishment 3.1 Site planning The site should be planned according to local conditions, with rational division of work areas. Based on the work area plan, main roads, mechanized farming roads, and irrigation and drainage systems should be constructed. 3.2 Supporting facilities Management houses, raw material storage rooms, sorting sheds, and finished product storage rooms should be built in the orchard. 3.3 Land preparation For slopes with a slope greater than 5°, terraced fields should be constructed.
