GB/T 23320-2009 Textiles—Determination of resistance to water absorption—Tumble-jar absorption test
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies a method for determining the water repellency of fabrics using the inverted absorption method. This standard is applicable to all fabrics that have undergone or not undergone waterproofing or water repellent finishing, especially for determining the waterproofing effect of fabrics after finishing, as the dynamic conditions the fabrics undergo in this method are similar to those in actual use.
This method is used to determine the water repellency of fabrics and can also be used to predict the weight gain that may occur in clothing during actual use. This method is most suitable for clothing fabrics that are used in humid environments for a long time.
This method cannot be used to predict the rainwater penetration ability of fabrics, because the method measures the amount of water absorbed by the fabrics rather than the amount of water that has penetrated them.
