Scope

This standard specifies the performance characterization method for tristimulus colorimeters used to measure the colorimetric coordinates of light sources.
This standard applies to various tristimulus colorimeters used to measure the color of light sources that provide illuminance or brightness values. Colorimeters with built-in light sources and those used to measure the color of reflective and transmissive materials are not within the scope of this standard.
