Scope

Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions, garden construction, planting, young tree management, adult tree management, pest and disease control, and post-harvest processing for March White Loquat cultivation. This document is applicable to March White Loquat planting and production. Main technical content: 1. Terms and definitions: The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 1.1 Dispersal canopy: A tree crown with a height of 30 cm to 50 cm, cultivating 5- to 6-grade branches, leaving 2 to 4 fruiting branches at the terminal level, and a tree height of less than 2.5 m. 1.2 Tower canopy: Cultivating a central trunk and three-layered main branch groups, with 4 to 6 fruiting branches per layer on each level. The upper and lower layers do not overlap, and the distance between layers is 50 cm to 60 cm. The tree height is less than 3.5 m. 2. Garden construction 2.1 Site selection 2.1.1 Climate conditions: Annual average temperature ≥ 17°C, minimum temperature ≥ -2°C, and annual rainfall ≥ 600 mm. 2.1.2 Environmental conditions: Select plots with convenient transportation, nearby water sources, and a slope of less than 25°. There should be no pollution sources within 5 km of the garden site, and the site must comply with NY/T 391 standards. 2.1.3 Soil conditions: Deep soil layers with a pH value of 5.5 to 6.5 and a groundwater level of less than 1.5 m. 2.2 Garden planning 2.2.1 Zoning: The orchard should be divided into several production zones based on topography and landforms. Each production zone includes 5 to 6 production sub-zones, with each sub-zone covering an area of 6 to 10 mu. 2.2.2 Slope development: For slopes less than 5°, level the area locally; for slopes of 5° to 25°, construct terraced fields with a width of at least 3 m. 2.2.3 Roads: Construct main and secondary roads based on production zones.
