Main technical content: 4.4.1 Construction and selection of seedbeds The seedbeds should be located in areas close to the planting site, sheltered from the wind, and facing the sun with a slightly elevated terrain. The seedbeds are typically built in large greenhouses or daylight greenhouses, covered with small plastic greenhouses, and seedlings are grown using seedling trays, nutrient pots, or nutrient blocks. 4.4.2 Preparation of nutrient soil Nutrient soil should be prepared using fertilizers that meet the requirements of NY/T 394. For example, 60% of fertile garden soil and 40% of composted manure are used. Add 0.5 kg of urea and 0.5 kg of potassium sulfate, 2 kg of diammonium phosphate, and 3.3% Furadan powder per cubic meter of nutrient soil, and mix them well for use. 4.4.3 Sowing time The sowing time for direct sowing or transplanting in the open field is when the temperature of the 10cm soil layer stabilizes above 15°C, and the average daily temperature stabilizes above 18°C. The sowing time for seedlings should be 25–30 days earlier than the planting time. For protected cultivation, the sowing time should be earlier than that for open-field cultivation according to the performance of the protective facilities. For grafting cultivation, the sowing time should be 8–10 days earlier than that for ordinary cultivation.
