Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of Ginseng from Changbai Mountain in Jilin, the scope of protection for geographical indication products, product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage.
This standard applies to Ginseng from Changbai Mountain in Jilin that have been approved for protection by the national administrative departments of quality supervision, inspection, and quarantine in accordance with the "Regulations on the Protection of Geographical Indication Products".
When Ginseng is used as a medicinal product, it shall comply with the "Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China" (latest edition).
