Scope
Scope: This document specifies the technical requirements for mango cultivation in the arid and hot regions of the Lancang River Basin, including terminology and definitions, site selection, seedlings, planting, soil management, young tree management, fruiting tree management, bagging, and harvesting. This document is applicable to mango cultivation in the arid and hot regions of the Lancang River Basin in Yunnan Province. Main technical content: 1. Terminology and definitions: The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document. - Arid and hot regions of the Lancang River Basin: An area with an average annual temperature above 17.5°C, an annual rainfall of less than 1,000 mm, a cumulative temperature above 10°C for more than 6,000 hours, and a frost-free period of more than 330 days. - Site selection: The altitude should be below 1,500 m, with a soil layer depth of at least 0.6 m, loose soil structure, a groundwater level below 1.0 m, and a pH value of 5.5–7.5. - Climate conditions: An average annual temperature above 17.5°C, an annual rainfall of less than 1,000 mm, a cumulative temperature above 10°C for more than 6,000 hours, and a frost period of less than 30 days. The most suitable conditions are: an average annual temperature of 18.4°C, a cumulative temperature above 6,200°C for more than 10,000 hours, a frost period of less than 20 days, and an annual rainfall of less than 1,000 mm. - Air quality and water quality: The air and water quality in the planting environment should meet the requirements of NY/T5010. - Site planning: - Layout of planting areas: The layout of planting areas should be in harmony with the natural environment, based on the principles of slope orientation, soil and fertility consistency, convenient irrigation and drainage, traffic convenience, and resource conservation. For flat areas, the size of a planting area should be 50 mu to 100 mu; for hilly areas, the size of a planting area should be 30 mu to 50 mu. - Terr
