Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the information interaction interface between parties involved in electronic toll collection (EFC) in road transport and traffic information technology, as well as the related public message structure framework and data elements. The purpose of this standard is to enable data exchange for toll-related operations between different toll systems and different operators (such as toll agents, settlement service providers, and service providers) in EFC.
This standard supports various applications:
Different payment models (e.g., prepaid, postpaid);
Various types of transportation and transportation-related services (highway tolls, parking fees, ferry, bridge, and tunnel tolls, public transportation fees, route guidance services, and other payments);
Various operational services (collaboration among parties);
The security and confidentiality of data involved in the above-mentioned different toll applications.
This standard does not include definitions of regulatory processes and organizational structures, and is not applicable to higher-level standards.
This standard does not involve non-directly participating parties, such as government, law enforcement, and legislative institutions.
