Scope

This document specifies the safety requirements and/or risk reduction measures for investment casting and lost foam casting equipment, as well as usage information, and describes the corresponding verification methods. This document lists the major hazards associated with this type of equipment when used for their intended purpose and under misuse conditions that can be reasonably anticipated by the manufacturer, as well as examples of dangerous conditions or events (see Appendix A). This document applies to the design, manufacture, and acceptance of investment casting equipment and lost foam casting equipment.
