Scope

This document specifies the rules for the validation of analytical methods to ensure the quality of hydrogen, and the requirements for reporting analytical results. It provides recommendations for evaluating the uncertainty of measurement results (expressed as mole fractions), a list of analytical methods applicable to each impurity in hydrogen according to the technical requirements for hydrogen in ISO 14687:2019, and suggestions for ensuring the quality of measurement results and the integrity of samples.
This document is applicable to the analysis of gaseous hydrogen samples supplied for use in proton exchange membrane fuel cells of road vehicles, which are sampled from hydrogen filling stations or hydrogen refueling stations and sent to laboratories for analysis.
This document is not applicable to the online monitoring of hydrogen.
