Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the fiber content in a mixture of two components, cross-linked lyocell fibers and viscose fibers, cuprammonium fibers, or modal fibers, after removing non-fiber substances using the formic acid/zinc chloride method.
This standard applies to mixtures of two components, cross-linked lyocell fibers and viscose fibers, cuprammonium fibers, or modal fibers.
This standard does not apply to mixtures containing cross-linked lyocell fibers that have been severely chemically degraded, nor to mixtures containing certain viscose fibers, cuprammonium fibers, or modal fibers that cannot be completely dissolved.
