Scope
This document specifies the methods for assessing the discoloration grade of samples (according to Appendix A) and the staining grade of standard backing fabrics (according to Appendix B) in color fastness tests using digital imaging technology, and stipulates the requirements for digital imaging systems.
This document is not applicable to the assessment of lightfastness color fastness of textiles.
Note: In the lightfastness color fastness tests of textiles described in the ISO 105 B series of standards, gray sample cards are not used to assess the discoloration of samples.
This document describes the instrumentation, equipment settings, and calibration methods for assessing discoloration and staining.
