Scope

This document is applicable to the correctness of the geometric structure of components or parts, the material characteristics (quality or defects) and the ultrasonic inspection stage of the manufacturing process (such as weld inspection).
This document provides user guidance for meeting customer requirements, specified inspection procedures, standardized documents or rules, including the following:
——Ultrasonic probes, probe systems and control transducers;
——Control-inclusive manipulation systems;
——Electronic subsystems for ultrasonic transmission and reception;
——Data storage and display systems;
——Systems and methods for evaluating inspection results.
This document describes the performance verification procedures for the selected inspection systems.
The inspection includes the following two types:
——Inspection during the product manufacturing process (fixed inspection systems), and;
——Inspection using mobile inspection systems.
