Scope

This part of GB/T 39714 specifies the requirements and nomenclature for semi-finished products made from polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).
This part applies to semi-finished products made from PTFE that contain a maximum of 1% copolymer monomer. The PTFE used for making semi-finished products can be new material, or it can be reprocessed or recycled resin. Pigments or colorants can be added in a maximum amount of 1.5% by mass, and they are also suitable for processing conditions of unfilled PTFE products in different forms.
This part classifies semi-finished products into four grades based on tensile strength and tensile elongation at break. Semi-finished products can be divided into processing type (P type) and dimensional stability type (S type), and they can also be designated as electrical type (E type) or other types for different applications.
