This standard applies to alarm systems that detect any unauthorized opening of doors, trunk doors, hoods, or engine compartment covers in an alert state, send out alarm signals, and can immobilize the vehicle. This standard applies to both vehicle anti-theft alarm systems installed as original equipment in vehicles and those installed after the delivery of the vehicle.
