Scope

This standard applies to the regular inspection and supervision of fixed lifting equipment (hereinafter referred to as electric hoist lifts) with a rated lifting weight of not more than 2000 kg, a rated speed of not more than 1.00 m/s, a maximum of four floors, and a lifting height of not more than 15 m. The lifting cage moves vertically along two vertical rigid guide rails in a fixed concrete shaft or steel frame, driven by an electric hoist, and is used for non-passenger operation on specified floors. This standard does not apply to electric hoist lifts used on construction sites.
