Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the concentrations of methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, isopropanol, 1-butanol, 2-butanol, 1-pentanol, 1-hexanol, acetaldehyde, propionaldehyde, butanaldehyde, acetone, 2-butanone, 2-pentanone, 2-hexanone, acetic acid, and propionic acid in the aqueous phase during the production of olefins from methanol using gas chromatography.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the concentrations of seventeen oxygen-containing compounds, including methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, isopropanol, 1-butanol, 2-butanol, 1-pentanol, 1-hexanol, acetaldehyde, propionaldehyde, butanaldehyde, acetone, 2-butanone, 2-pentanone, 2-hexanone, acetic acid, and propionic acid in the wash water and purified water used in the process of producing olefins from methanol.
