Scope
This standard specifies the basic performance parameters and evaluation methods of X-ray film digitization systems, the performance grades of X-ray film digitization technology, and standard reference films. It also stipulates the performance grades that systems used for digitizing X-ray films of steel and aluminum workpieces should meet.
This standard applies to technologies and systems that convert X-ray films into digital images.
This standard does not apply to the subsequent processing and display of digitized X-ray film images.
