Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the prohibited water-soluble colorants Acid Yellow 1 and Acid Orange 7 in ointments, emulsions, and liquid eye care and cosmetic products using liquid chromatography. This standard is applicable to the determination of the prohibited water-soluble colorants Acid Yellow 1 and Acid Orange 7 in eye care and cosmetic products, but it is not applicable to the determination of color lakes containing Acid Yellow 1 and Acid Orange 7 in eye care and cosmetic products. The detection limit of this standard method is 1.5 mg/kg, and the quantification limit is 5.0 mg/kg.
