Scope
This standard specifies the classification, basic parameters, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage, and spare parts of marine AC propulsion motors (hereinafter referred to as propulsion motors). This standard applies to marine AC propulsion motors. This standard does not apply to superconducting propulsion motors, nor to other types of permanent magnet motors other than those with radial magnetic fields.
