Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, symbols, test principles, test devices, samples, test procedures, calculation of test results, and test reports for testing the damping capability of metal damping materials using the torsion pendulum method and the bending vibration method. This standard is applicable to the determination of the damping capability of metal damping materials at room temperature. The torsion pendulum method is used for low-frequency torsional vibration (0.1 Hz~10 Hz); the bending vibration method is used for bending vibration in the audio frequency range.
