Scope

This standard specifies the limit conditions under which materials can maintain combustion equilibrium in various oxidant gases under specific pressure, temperature, flow conditions, combustion propagation directions, and other geometric characteristics in typical systems.
This standard is applicable to the determination and description of the performance of materials, products, or molded components that respond to heat and flames under specified experimental conditions, but it cannot be directly used to describe or evaluate the ignition hazards and risks of materials under actual combustion conditions. This method is more suitable for evaluating the combustion performance of materials and components with sizes similar to those required in the test.
