Scope

This standard specifies protocols for automatic and interactive communication and control of computer systems used in livestock production. This standard supports communication within livestock production and on the Internet.
This standard defines the basic protocols for data exchange, using common data structures. The protocols can be expanded according to future needs.
This protocol is only applicable to simple and/or well-defined entities.
This standard relates to network communication used in livestock production services, which are provided by devices in the system. This standard does not apply to internal communication within subsystems.
The data transmission format is based on the ADIS and ADED standards defined in ISO 11787 and ISO 11788, and XML/ADED described in this standard can also be used. XML/ADED is similar to the ADIS standard specified in ISO 11787, but its data format is not suitable for real-time data exchange.
