Scope

Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions, feeding and management requirements, rearing and management of breeding cows, and perinatal care of cows in the Liupanshan region of Ningxia, as well as the technical requirements for lactating cows' feeding and management. This document applies to the technical operations of feeding and managing cows in large-scale livestock farms (or households) in the Liupanshan region of Ningxia. Main technical content: 3. Terms and definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this document: 3.1 Lactation The period from delivery to weaning (at 4 months of age). 3.2 Progestational period The first three months of a cow's pregnancy. 3.3 Second trimester of pregnancy The period from April to June of a cow's pregnancy. 3.4 Late pregnancy The period from July to delivery. 3.5 Perinatal period Divided into the prenatal and postnatal periods. The prenatal period is the 15 days before a cow gives birth, and the postnatal period is the 15 days after a cow gives birth. 3.6 Breeding cows Cows aged 7 months to their first mating. 3.7 Young cows Cows from their first mating to giving birth. 4. Feeding and management requirements 4.1 Adopt free-range feeding and implement group-based, phased feeding. 4.2 Use local feed raw materials that meet the requirements of GB 13078. 4.3 Use feed and additives that comply with NY 5032. 4.4 Provide a complete and balanced diet, with nutritional levels referencing NY/T
