Scope

This standard specifies the test methods, result calculation, recovery rate and precision, allowable deviations, and other aspects of the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) determination method for the mercury thiosulfate content in eye cosmetics.
This standard is applicable to the determination of mercury thiosulfate content in eye cosmetics such as makeup removers, eye shadows, eye creams, mascaras, liquid eyeliners, and eyebrow pencils.
The detection limit and quantification limit of the method specified in this standard are as follows: the detection limit for makeup removers is 1 mg/kg, and the detection limits for eye shadows, eye creams, liquid eyeliners, etc. are 2 mg/kg. The quantification limit for makeup removers is 3 mg/kg, and the quantification limits for eye shadows, eye creams, liquid eyeliners, etc. are 6 mg/kg.
