Scope

This standard specifies a method for quantitatively determining the content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) (VOCs in the tank) in low-VOC content latex paints under standard atmospheric pressure (101.325 kPa) using gas chromatography. This method is applicable to samples with a VOC content ranging from 0.01% to 0.1% (by mass fraction).
The main purpose of this method is to determine whether the product is a low-VOC latex paint, rather than for routine quality control purposes.
