Scope
This document describes a method for confirming the repeatability and consistency of the relative intensities of positive ions in static secondary ion mass spectrometry during routine analysis. This document is applicable to instruments equipped with an ionization neutralization electron gun, and is not intended for calibrating the response function of intensity variation with mass. Calibration can be performed by the instrument manufacturer or other institutions. This document provides data to confirm the consistency of relative intensities when the instrument is in use, and provides guidelines for setting some instrument parameters that may affect consistency.
