Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for mechanical transmissions of three-wheeled vehicles and low-speed trucks.
This standard applies to mechanical gear transmissions used in three-wheeled vehicles and low-speed trucks (excluding three-wheeled vehicle transmissions integrated with the rear axle). For multi-gear transmissions with more than eight gears and a sub-transmission, it only applies to the main transmission.
