Scope
This guidance technical document provides basic thermal performance data for the glass transition temperature, melting point, enthalpy of fusion, thermal decomposition temperature, and thermal weight loss rate of certain textile fibers. This guidance technical document is applicable to ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers, aramid 1414, aramid 1313, polyphenylene sulfide fibers, polyimide fibers, polyethylene terephthalate fibers, polybutylene terephthalate fibers, polylactic acid fibers, chitosan fibers, and lyocell fibers.
