Scope

This standard specifies the analytical methods for quantitatively determining the microstructure of butadiene monomers and the content of styrene monomers in solution-polymerized SBR (SSBR) using 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (absolute method) and infrared spectroscopy (relative method). The styrene content is expressed as a mass fraction of the entire polymer. The content of the 1,4-trans structure, 1,4-cis structure, and 1,2-vinyl structure is expressed as a molar fraction of the butadiene portion.
