Scope

This document specifies the definitions and terminology, classification, order content, dimensions, shape and weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates for steel and alloys used in internal combustion engine valves. This document is applicable to the manufacture of hot-rolled and forged rods with a diameter not exceeding 120 mm, and cold-drawn steel, bright-annealed steel, alloy rods, and wire rods with a diameter not exceeding 35 mm for internal combustion engine valves.
