Scope

This document specifies the design requirements and guidelines for electrical and electronic equipment used in mobile (including handheld) agricultural machinery, forestry machinery, and horticultural machinery (hereinafter referred to as machinery). The machinery in this document includes tractors and their ancillary equipment. This document describes the test methods for specific environmental conditions and provides an environmental severity rating based on the extreme environmental conditions that machinery may encounter during actual operation. This document is applicable to testing the suitability of machinery in specific environmental conditions. Note: The severity rating provided in this document is only a general guideline and does not guarantee the most severe environmental conditions.
