Scope

This standard specifies the testing and evaluation methods for soluble heavy metals such as antimony, arsenic, barium, selenium, and hexavalent chromium in furniture.
This standard applies to furniture products with surfaces coated with paint, veneer, or soft covering materials.
This standard does not apply to furniture products with surfaces coated with glaze on ceramics, porcelain enamel on metals, or all furniture products fused or melted into glass, porcelain enamel, or ceramic enamel, as well as furniture products with metal electroplating layers.
