Terms and Definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Fresh Bamboo Shoots Fresh bamboo shoots are the young and tender stage of the buds on the stems of bamboo, which expand and sprout. 3.2 Powder Processing The fresh bamboo shoots are crushed by wet methods or further dried to produce fresh bamboo shoot juice (powder). 4. Technical Requirements 4.1 Processing Technology The process flow is shown in Figure 1: Figure 1 – Process Flow for Fresh Bamboo Shoot Juice (Powder) 4.2 Removing Bamboo Skins Remove the bamboo skins and discard the bamboo shoot heads that do not meet quality requirements.
