Scope

This standard sets forth restrictions on mining blast hole drilling rigs in terms of their physical performance and intended use. The safety requirements specified in this standard apply to the hazards arising at all stages of the machine's lifespan. This standard applies to rock drilling rigs, wire rope percussive drilling rigs, down-the-hole drilling rigs, rotary drilling rigs, and cone drilling rigs (hereinafter referred to as drilling rigs) used for drilling blast holes in open-pit and underground mines, as well as tunnels.
