Scope

This standard specifies the common basic Chinese names of major bamboo species in China (34 genera and 619 species) and their corresponding Latin names.
This standard applies to the information processing of bamboo species resources in China, including common naturalized species, except for Guadua, × Phyllosasa or Hibanobambusa, and Sasaella.
This standard does not cover the subspecies of major bamboo species in China: forms (f.), varieties (var.), cultivated varieties (CV.), and other germplasm; nor does it cover highly controversial taxonomic groups.
