GB/Z 43998-2024 Nanotechnologies—Assessment of the concentrations of carbon black and amorphous silica in nanoscale in a mixed dust manufacturing environment
Basic Information
Scope
This document provides guidelines for quantitatively analyzing and identifying the concentration of carbon black and/or amorphous silica particles in the air, based on their particle size, in air samples collected from industrial manufacturing environments with mixed dust. This document describes the method of collecting air samples using an electrostatic low-pressure cascade impact sampler (ELPCI) on a 25 mm diameter polycarbonate membrane. This document is applicable to sampling air in manufacturing environments containing multiple types of particles. This document only applies to aerosols with particle compositions that differ in chemical and physical properties, or to environments where interference factors can be controlled (such as diesel sources). Although other sampling methods may also be suitable, this document is limited to describing methods related to ELPCI. The particle morphology and elemental composition of the samples collected by ELPCI are analyzed by TEM and EDS to determine the type of particles. This information, combined with the size-based particle concentration information determined by ELPCI, provides the concentration of the target material in the air.
