Scope

This document specifies the requirements for pathogen localization methods in the diagnosis of oyster monosporeosis. For the main pathogen, Haplosporidium nelsoni, it provides the reagents or materials, instruments and equipment, samples, experimental steps, and result determination needed for in situ hybridization detection. This document is applicable to the evaluation and diagnosis of Haplosporidium nelsoni infection in oysters; other shellfish can also refer to it for implementation.
