Scope: This standard specifies the first batch of 11 traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal pieces, including cassia, Gastrodia elata, Radix pseudostellariae, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Polygonum multiflorum, Radix Codonopsis, Astragalus membranaceus, Gardenia jasminoides, Lycium barbarum, Crocus sativus, and Epimedium sagittatum, including their terminology, definitions, standards, grade specifications, inspection and testing, and origin. Main technical content: 4 **Technical Requirements** 4.1 Cassia Herbal Material Standards: Comply with the 2020 edition of the *Chinese Pharmacopoeia*. 4.1.1 Grade Specifications: Shaped like a rope knot, with a firm texture. The surface is yellow-brown, and the cross-section is gray-white or yellow-white, with a distinctive aroma and a bitter-spicy, numbing taste. No more than 70 pieces per kilogram (each weighing 15g–22g). 4.1.2 Inspection: Pesticide residues, heavy metals, and sulfur dioxide residues. 4.1.3 Origin: Dujiangyan and Pengzhou, Sichuan. 4.1.4 Drinking Pieces Standards: Comply with the 2018 edition of the *Shanghai Municipal Traditional Chinese Medicine Drinking Pieces Preparation Standards*. 4.1.5 Enhanced Drinking Pieces Standards: Product name, specification, appearance, color, inspection, content determination, and notes (preparation standards). - **Cassia**: Irregular slices with a smooth cut surface, a diameter of 4–7cm, and a thickness of 2–7cm (small-packaged slices). The color is yellow-white or gray-white. Drug residues must not exceed 1%. The diameter of the slices must be 2–7cm. - **Gastrodia elata**: Oval or square slices with a smooth cut surface. The color ranges from yellow-white to light brown. The characteristic spectrum must not exceed 1%.
