Scope

This document specifies the industrial fans defined in ISO 5801 and ISO 13349 (all parts). This document is only applicable to the measurement of airborne sound radiation in specified settings and does not include the measurement of vibration or the sensitivity of airborne sound radiation to the effects of vibration. This document is applicable to testing the size of fans, but not to testing the limitations of the actual installation state. This document establishes the determination of sound power by measuring sound intensity on the surface surrounding the sound source, and provides guidelines for acoustic environments, environmental noise, measurement surfaces, and measurement frequencies. The test setup is designed in accordance with the installation methods and physical orientation of the fans specified in ISO 5801 and ISO 13347.
