Scope

Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, production site environment, cultivation techniques, selenium-enrichment techniques, timely harvesting, and file management for the selenium-enriched cultivation of water chestnuts. This standard applies to the selenium-enriched cultivation of water chestnuts. Main technical content: 5. Cultivation techniques 5.1 Variety selection: Select varieties with high quality, high yield, and strong resistance. 5.2 Field management: Techniques such as seedling cultivation, land preparation and fertilization, timely transplanting, reasonable planting density, fertilizer and water management, and pest and weed control can be implemented according to local field management techniques. 5.3 Fertilizer application: Fertilizer application shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 394. 5.4 Chemical pest and weed control: Chemical control shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 393. 6. Selenium-enrichment techniques 6.1 Selenium supplementation principles: When the selenium content in water chestnut fruits from naturally selenium-enriched production does not meet the requirements of GH/T 1135, selenium can be supplemented through artificial techniques. 6.2 Selenium fertilizers: Selenium fertilizers or selenium soil conditioners registered by the state shall be selected. 6.3 Supplementation methods: Leaf surface supplementation and rhizosphere supplementation. One or both supplementation methods can be selected according to actual production needs. 6.3.1 Leaf surface supplementation: Prepare a selenium solution with a concentration of 70mg/kg to 120mg/kg. Supplement selenium once each during the growth peak, flowering, and early fruit stages, applying 450kg to 600kg of selenium solution per hectare evenly. Ensure that all leaves are sprayed with selenium solution, with no dripping. Apply selenium on cloudy days or after 4 PM on sunny days.
