Scope

This standard specifies two methods for determining the content of vitamin B1 in feed using fluorescence spectrophotometry and high-performance liquid chromatography. Method 1 of this standard is suitable for the determination of vitamin B1 in feed raw materials, compound feed, and concentrated feed. The quantitative limit of the method is 1 mg/kg (the method is not applicable when there are substances that adsorb thiamine or interfere with the fluorescence of thiochromium). The vitamin B1 determined by this method includes both endogenous and added amounts. Method 2 specified in this standard is suitable for the determination of compound premix feed and vitamin premix feed. The detection limit of Method 2 is 3 mg/kg, and the quantitative limit is 15 mg/kg.
