Scope
This standard specifies the non-destructive testing method for internal defects in the circumferential butt welds of steel pipes with a nominal thickness of greater than or equal to 25 mm and a pipe diameter of greater than or equal to 159 mm and not exceeding 2000 mm. This standard applies to the non-destructive testing of internal defects in the circumferential butt welds of carbon steel and alloy steel pipes. It is not applicable to the non-destructive testing of internal defects in the circumferential butt welds of austenitic stainless steel pipes.
