Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the content of aromatic hydrocarbons and olefins in automotive gasoline using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. This standard is applicable to the determination of aromatic hydrocarbons with a measurement range of 5.0% to 40.0% (by volume) and olefin content with a measurement range of 1.5% to 30.0% (by volume) in automotive gasoline. This standard does not address all safety issues related to its application.
