Scope

This standard specifies the dimensions and materials of welded ring seats and relief valves located at the bottom of oil tanks and water tanks. Oil tanks and water tanks exist in the following forms: - Structural liquid tanks, which are liquid tanks that form an integral part of the ship's structure; - Independent liquid tanks, which are removable liquid tanks located in appropriate compartments and cabins. The relief devices specified in this standard are applicable to the above two types of tanks.
