Scope

This document describes the compatible design method for forced air-cooled cabinets equipped with plug-in boxes and/or chassis in accordance with the IEC 60297 and IEC 60917 series. This document includes the following content: a) The thermal boundary conditions of plug-in boxes and/or chassis equipment in the cabinet, specifically: ● Reference temperature; ● Preferred airflow configuration; ● Airflow conditions; ● Standard air. b) An evaluation process for forced air-cooled designs in cabinets based on specific thermal boundary conditions. The accompanying figures are not intended to guide product design, but are used for explanatory purposes when determining the evaluation process for forced air-cooling designs.
