Scope

This standard specifies the similarity parameters that should be followed when conducting model tests of the cavitation and its induced effects on the hull surface of ships, the simulation and measurement of the wake distribution, the procedure for observing cavitation and measuring pulsating pressure, as well as the requirements for test facilities and testing instruments.
This standard is applicable to the cavitation and pulsating pressure model tests of propellers of various surface ships in variable-pressure circulation tanks or cavitation cylinders, and can also be used as a reference for conducting cavitation pulsating pressure tests on propeller models in decompression towing tanks.
